Design Work and Behind the Scenes Images

This page has been hijacked for a while to post the pictures from the premiere night, a full news and events page will soon be up when the site gets a overhaul (soon).

Under the Premiere stuff you can still find the artwork and downloads.

Premiere night - September 6th, 2006.

Belmont Cinema, Aberdeen, Scotland. Not a big cinema but a nice venue for the movie, we managed to pack the place with a sell out screening, so a huge thanks to everybody that turned up and made the night a success. All of the cast and crew were there, including the star of the movie, Mike Mitchell, who had came over from his home in Turkey for the event.

After the movie we had a question and answer session with the audience, which carried on late into the night at the cinema bar. A big thanks must go to the management and staff of the Belmont Cinema for hosting the event and making it run so smoothly.

Cast Photo

Line up of the main cast. Names can be found on the Cast page.

Lead Actor and Director

The Planet's star, Mike Mitchell and creator Mark Stirton.

Cast and Crew

The cast and crew at the 'Q&A' after the screening. Here producer Mike Clark can be seen shooting executive producer Graham Robertson.

Audience 1

Some photos of the people who attended the premiere, perhaps you can see yourself here!

Audience 2

Another chance to see if you are one of the lucky people who booked your ticket early and didn't get turned away at the door.

The Branstons

Father and son acting team Tim (tux in background) and Ashley Branston (white t shirt) seen here with friends and family.

Cobra Cannon

Early design work for the main hero weapon: the King Cobra. The design changed substantially before producing the final prop for the film.

Battleship Grande

One of the original designs for the main spaceship. This was way too shiny and large for what was meant to be a much repaired flying accident.

Hero Ship

New ship design by CG artist, Kerwin Robertson.

A much more eerie looking vessel, which shadows the designs for the weapons in the film. This image can be used for desktops. Size - 1024 x 768.

Late Hero Ship

Production art for post attack spaceship.

Composite artwork produced using the original DXF of the spaceship model and reworking it in Cinema 4D, post work in Adobe Photoshop.

Attack Ship

An example of one of the many attack craft seen in the opening shots of the film. One basic model was produced then given numerous texture variations for different craft.

Attack - S Class

Test render of the special demolition craft, or suicide ship. This ship only appears once in the film, funny that!

Technical Sheets

A 2 page pdf set of technical sheets for all those model fans out there. Features main craft and attack ship details. To download, right click and save target as.

The e-pod

An escape vehicle from the main ship. Built as a full scale prop used on location and a CG model for scenes while in flight.

Supreme Sacrifice

Ashley Branston (Roberts), has a close shave with Mike Mitchell before appearing in front of the camera. Another hair victim was actor Graham Robertson (Williams), who normally has a full beard and hair like a Viking berserker.

Purple Star Award

Unfortunately, on the first day of filming, Graham suffered severe sunburn on his bald pate. Within two days, one side of his pink noggin had noticeably swollen, but after a trip to the doc and some medication it eventually returned to normal.

Auction Winner - Roy Nicol

During our Aberdeen premiere for "Removals" we held a fund raising auction. One of the prizes was a walk on part in our next film, the winner (paying a surprising amount for the experience) was Roy. Roy enjoyed his day in front of the camera and we hope he looks forward to seeing himself on the big screen.
